the bedtime tantrums so far…

These last few weeks Flinn (5) has been having absolute raging bedtime tantrums.

Pinterest Images from Imperfect Mummy - the place to find realistic and low tox parentingIt’s those kinds of meltdowns when I actually don’t know what to do next or how to resolve it. When Flinn sees red there is no stopping him. It’s upsetting as a parent, for his 2 brothers and of course for him too.

What got me really hopeful is the fact that it is specially formulated for our little people.

Well, I have tried it twice this last week and both times have been UNBELIEVABLE!!!

the change that’s happened…

Last night was the most remarkable. I started diffusing just a couple of drops of the blend in his room where he was about 45 minutes before bedtime. Usually, the tantrums start when I go in and give him his 30-minute notice until bedtime and I receive “No Mum, I’m not going to bed” kind of responses. However, having sat with the oil diffusing for 15 minutes already I got a casual “OK”.

I didn’t dare get too excited yet however when I did go back in 30 minutes later he was actually already getting ready for bed!

I felt like it was maybe the calm before the storm or he was playing a trick on me but no, the bedtime continued in this way, we read a nice book together (which we haven’t done in ages due to the tantrums), we also talked and had cuddles before I left him to go to sleep.

Often, after I have left he spends the next hour at the top of the stairs messing about or “playing” in his room but he must have gone to sleep really quick last night as I never heard anything else from him and I couldn’t see any evidence of him having been up again!

conclusion…

As this has happened twice on different nights this week (the other was 4/5 nights ago and although the results weren’t as amazing it was still a tantrum-free night)  I honestly don’t think this was just “luck”. I will continue to use it and keep updating on my Instagram.

The Seedlings Calm blend is made by Young Living. It contains a mix of Lavender, coriander, bergamot, ylang-ylang and geranium. It is safe to be diffused around children and can even be applied directly to the chest or back of the neck.

In order for essential oils to work, you need to make sure they are pure and not synthetic. I buy all mine from Young Living as I know they are 100% pure and also sustainably sourced. I am also able to offer you wholesale prices when you sign up for a customer account using my code: 15863728

Seedlings Calm is not available for direct sale however if you are interested in purchasing please send me an email at rebecca@northamptonshiremumsandkids.co.uk
